Pope Affirms Right of Nation-States to Regulate Immigration

Mysteriously, as of 1 pm ET, I don’t see any U.S. MSM coverage of Pope Benedict XVI’s statement for World Migrant Day, which quietly but firmly defends the right of nation-states to regulate immigration — and calls on immigrants to assimilate:
… States have the right to regulate migration flows and to defend their own frontiers, always guaranteeing the respect due to the dignity of each and every human person. Immigrants, moreover, have the duty to integrate into the host Country, respecting its laws and its national identity.
This, of course, is in distressing contrast to my own Episcopal Church and its appalling presiding Bishopess Katherine Jefferts Schori.
