Republicans have a problem and it is non-citizens voting — not just illegal aliens, even the legally present are ineligible to vote. For example, Representative Chip Roy is trying to pass something called the SAVE Act, Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act [Exclusive — Chip Roy: There Is ‘Repeated Evidence’ of Non-Citizens Voting, Breitbart, June 19, 2024]. The problem is that this SAVE Act would have to pass the House, then pass the Democratic majority in the Senate, and then get signed into law by a Democratic president. What are the chances of that? The Democrats are going to be relying on the illegal alien vote, and if you question regarding illegal aliens voting, then “SHADDUP YOU RACIST!”
I like Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, but he seems to have given up on this issue.
The Democrats will continue their “It’s not happening, but it’s good that it is” propaganda. Because they control the courts, they will point to a lack of prosecution of voter fraud cases as proof that there is no voter fraud. In the above video, Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-NY, wait, there are Republicans in New York?) says that former Obama adviser Susan Rice tasked our federal agencies with getting votes from illegal immigrants, after a Biden Executive Order on expanding access to voter registration.

Welfare offices and other agencies in 49 US states are providing voter registration forms to migrants without requiring proof of citizenship, leading Republicans and conservatives to call for swift federal action to stop the handouts.
Every state but Arizona — which recently passed a law barring the practice on state but not federal forms — gives applicants for either welfare benefits, driver’s licenses, or in some cases, mail-in ballots, voter registration forms without demanding proof of citizenship.
There is currently no requirement on federal voting forms to provide proof of US citizenship, though it is illegal to falsely claim one is a citizen or for a non-citizen to cast a ballot in a federal election.

The Problem:
So what are we to do? The best solution I’ve seen so far comes from Stephen Miller’s America First Legal. It’s something that can be done now, and doesn’t rely on Biden ratifying it.[U]nder current law as interpreted by the Supreme Court, anyone can register to vote using the EAC Federal Form without providing documentary proof of citizenship.
- This outrageous state of affairs, which is completely contrary to common sense and the practices of other countries across the world, has led to numerous bills being introduced to correct the situation at the point of voter registration — such as the SAVE Act. Such bills are essential to protect the integrity of our elections. This plan provides something that States can do NOW until legislation like the SAVE Act becomes law.
And
The Solution:
Two federal statutes that have been on the books for nearly three decades allow states to obtain information about the citizenship or immigration status of any individual for any lawful purpose. Specifically, 8 U.S.C. § 1373(c) provides that (the reference to the former Immigration and Naturalization Service, abolished twenty-three years ago, now means the Department of Homeland Security):
Further, 8 U.S.C. § 1644 provides that:
Each statute makes clear that States and localities can submit a request to DHS to obtain the citizenship or immigration status of any individual “for any purpose authorized by law.” And further, not only can they request the information, but DHS “shall respond” to such a request, and they cannot be prohibited or restricted from receiving that information.
This is a step in the right direction; however, let us not forget that Mayorkas controls DHS. Do you think the Cuban immivader will let DHS comply? Nevertheless, I commend Stephen Miller’s attempts to do something about this foreseeable problem. It’s worth a try and better than doing nothing.
“We keep fighting because we don’t know what the future will bring.” (Or something like that.)
