Sure, it’s a holiday for most people, but, rest assured, Bill Kristol’s mind is still awhirl with plans for you and me.
Big plans.
Not yet disclosed: How exactly would regime change in China work? Who is the Chinese Ahmad Chalabi whom the 1.3 billion Chinese are desperate to have as their new U.S.-backed ruler?
My guess is that Bill is thinking ahead to the promise of new technology: As George H.W. Bush used to shout on the White House tennis court: Unleash Chiang!* Perhaps we could have David Reich dig up Chiang Kai-Shek’s skeleton and clone him. Granted, Chiang lost in 1949, but all he needs is a second chance and a lot more U.S. air support.
But, Bill, why not think really big? All you need to do is to find the lost Tomb of Genghis Khan …
* Or maybe the elder Bush shouted “Unleash Chang” in reference to diminutive tennis star Michael Chang who had recently won the French Open. (My guess is that it’s such a great joke that virtually nobody, such as Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio, who go around shouting “Unleash Chang” to this day, ever got it.)
