DOUGLAS, AZ (KOLD)- Sue Krentz, wife of slain rancher, Robert Krentz, was hit by a vehicle driven by a suspected drunk driver in Douglas Saturday night, Douglas Police said.

It happened at approximately 6 p.m. in front of St. Luke’s Catholic Church, an official said. Krentz and her friend were crossing the street when they were struck.

Sue Krentz was airlifted to University Medical Center in Tucson, police said. Her condition is unknown at this time.

Krentz’s friend’s name and condition were not immediately available.

The driver of the vehicle did stop, police said. Ramon Parra Saucedo, 74, was located a short time later.

Saucedo is charged with DUI, 2 counts of Endangerment, and 2 counts of Aggravated Assault, said Carol Capas, a Cochise County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman. He is being held in the Cochise County Jail. Bond is set at $5,000.

Saucedo is a U.S. citizen, Capas said.[Emphasis added.]

In case you've forgotten, Robert Krentz was killed by a person or persons unknown on March 27, 2010, on his ranch near the Mexican border. His last recorded transmission was "I see an immigrant out here, and he appears to need help. Call the Border Patrol." Footprints leaving the crime scene led back across the Mexican Border.
