Ryan Lizza On The Malignant Narcissist In The White House (Obama, That Is)

James Kirkpatrick’s post on Ryan Lizza — formerly of the New Yorker, now the latest victim of the ongoing "sexual harassment" demolition derby — reminds me anew of reporting Lizza did on Barack Obama’s long-ago campaign for the U.S. Senate. A brief vignette Lizza produced then deserves the widest possible exposure, for the benefit of those who still haven’t caught on to Obama’s character.

Here’s what Lizza wrote toward the end of The Natural (published in The Atlantic Monthly, September, 2004):

I couldn’t help noticing, when we sat down to talk in the dilapidated storefront that houses his Springfield [Illinois] campaign headquarters, that the blue-pen drawing he’d doodled on his newspaper during fundraising calls was a portrait of himself.
Lizza’s fortuitous observation combined with the nation’s tortured experience of Obama’s presidential campaign and his seemingly-endless eight years at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW in Washington, DC surely is enough to validate talk-radio host Tammy Bruce’s considered dismissal of Obama as a "malignant narcissist."

So before his abrupt downfall, Lizza did some good reporting. He'll always have Springfield!
