A Salvation Army bell-ringer was robbed of his entire kettle by four men. Here are two versions of that story.
The Associated Press says police are looking for tips, but unhelpfully won’t tell their readers what the criminals, still at large, look like:
Ohio Salvation Army kettle stolen at knifepoint - Yahoo! NewsNORTH CANTON, Ohio (AP) — Police say an Ohio Salvation Army bell-ringer outside a Kmart store was robbed of his red kettle by four men with a knife.
North Canton police say they don’t know how much donated money was in the kettle when it was taken Saturday evening.
Police Sgt. Frank Kemp tells WJW-TV (https://bit.ly/vPzm84) the four men, all wearing dark clothing and hoodies, threatened to use the knife. Kemp says the bell-ringer followed the Salvation Army’s standard procedure in such cases and did not put up a struggle. The robbers took off on foot.
Police are asking for tips to help find them.
And here’s the actual descripton from Fox8.com
"Sgt. Frank Kemp said the robbers didn’t just take the money, they took the whole kettle. 'He wasn’t able to give us a very big description except that there were three black males, one white male. They threatened to use a knife. He did see a knife clip,' Sgt. Kemp said."Salvation Army Bell Ringer Robbed at Knifepoint in North Canton,By Maria Scali, Fox 8 News, November 20, 2011
