Previously: Amnesty May Hinge On “Moderate” Dem Senators Manchin and Sinema
Democratic Arizona Sen. Kyrsten Sinema announced Wednesday she opposed the Democrats’ budget reconciliation bill, which is set to include an amnesty for millions of illegal aliens. The move likely blocks the bill for the time being. The budget bill can’t pass without Sinema’s support.
As VDARE.com reported over the weekend, Democrats want to use the reconciliation process--which only requires a simple majority for bills to pass the Senate--to institute amnesty. The bill just has to relate to the budget, per the Senate parliamentarian’s determination. The Democrats need every one of the senators to support the bill to get it to pass. Sinema’s opposition undermines that dream.
But Sinema doesn’t oppose the bill because it may legalize millions of illegals--she simply opposes it because its $3.5 trillion price tag is too much. Her statement indicates she would be open to another deal that costs less:
“I have also made clear that while I will support beginning this process, I do not support a bill that costs $3.5 trillion — and in the coming months, I will work in good faith to develop this legislation with my colleagues and the administration to strengthen Arizona’s economy and help Arizona’s everyday families get ahead.” [Sinema doesn’t support Democrats' $3.5T bill, by Yvonne Wingett Sanchez, Arizona Republic, July 28, 2021].
The amnesty portion of the bill costs an estimated $120 billion. It’s unlikely Democrats would shave it off just to appease Sinema. But if the border crisis continues to worsen, especially in her home state, she may insist they cut out the rewards for illegals.
A clearer picture of the proposed sneak amnesty were revealed by Democrats this week as well--and it should horrify immigration patriots. Bloomberg reports it would legalize eight million illegals:
Of the 8 million immigrants that Democrats want to aid in the economic package, 3 million would be young undocumented immigrants known as “Dreamers,” migrant workers and some with “temporary protected status” because dangerous conditions present risks if they return to their home countries, the aide said. The other 5 million would be “essential workers” who have yet to be defined [Democrats Eye Legal Path for Some Undocumented Immigrants, by Laura Litvan, Bloomberg, July 26, 2021].
That would likely account for most illegal aliens in America, dealing a devastating blow to the historic American nation.
The chances for the sneak Amnesty are reduced by Sinema’s announcement, but the danger is still great. This should be the number one focus of Republican lawmakers right now. If it passes, there may be no future for America.
