Senator Rubio’s New Argument for Mass Amnesty!

Has anyone else noticed that when Marco Rubio does his amnesty spiel, he begins talking really fast? In a June 13 radio interview with Andrea Tantaros, he stated the legalization of the Senate bill is not amnesty, and he said it lickety split, so listeners couldn’t process the crazy content of what he said.

Tantaros’ fawning over Amnesty Man as the great Republican hope was hard to take, and I won’t be seeking out her radio show. Still, the broadcast got some attention for the Senator’s remarks on a newly discovered benefit of illegal aliens, that they would pay for border security.

Say, what?! Here’s a snip from Byron York’s report:

Rubio: We need to legalize immigrants so they can pay for border security, by Byron York, Washington Examiner, June 13, 2013

[ … ] Rubio’s first reason was that the U.S. has no other choice than to legalize the 11 million. Enhancing security first would take an estimated four years, and Rubio declared, “We cannot wait another four years with 11 million people living in this country illegally without knowing who they are or why they’re here.”

But there was another reason. “We need to register them as soon as possible, not just to keep the problem from getting worse, but we’re going to require them to pay a fine, and that’s the money that we are going to use to pay for the border security,” Rubio explained. “If we don’t get that fine money from the people that have violated our immigration laws, then the American taxpayer is going to have to pay for border security.”

Apparently the Florida Senator thinks some substantial cash will be collected with the “fine” that foreign lawbreakers are supposed to pay. Actually, the bill does not specify exactly what that penalty would be in dollar terms, but it does allow waivers by which the foreigners can avoid any fees. So it looks like the vaunted “fines” are just as imaginary as border security.

Another who noticed the curious claim was Rush Limbaugh, who is still suffering from PRSD (Post Rubio Stress Disorder). On Friday, he was moaning again about his disappointment:

It’s Painful… Rubio Says We Must Legalize Illegals So They Can Pay for Border Security

RUSH: Folks, I can’t tell you, I don’t even want to have to say this. This is painful. Did you hear what Senator Rubio said? We need to bring the illegals here so that they will pay for the border security that we need. I know. I can’t tell you, this is painful for me. [ … ]

I’ll tell you why it pains me, why it is really, really painful, this stuff. Because I really like Senator Rubio. I remember Senator Rubio campaigning against Crist. I know who Rubio is. I wish he would get out of this whole immigration fight and not tarnish himself because there is a lot of potential in Marco Rubio. This immigration thing is gonna taint him. I just hope it doesn’t.

Limbaugh knows who Rubio is?

The dark side of the force is strong with the young Rubio, who can create delusion in normally sensible conservative pundits. Limbaugh apparently remains a believer in Rubio, despite the evidence from the present and past history of blocking immigration enforcement. Limbaugh is still clinging to the fading hope that Rubio will snap out of an imagined beguilement from the clever tricksters in the Gang of Eight like Schumer and McCain. But it is Limbaugh who has been beguiled by Rubio’s powerful ability to deceive.
