Nobody wanted–needed!–it to be true more than white liberals did:
A few of the most zealous believers will cling to the attendant statement that while two years, a bazillion dollars, and a gazillion investigatory man-hours couldn’t turn up a shred of evidence of collusion between Trump and Russia, the orange man hasn’t been formally exonerated yet. Hope springs eternal for the demented few! For most, though, this is a devastating psychological blow.
The truth hurts. It especially hurts purveyors of fake news.
