As someone who occasionally enjoys hoisting a few, I've been watching with interest the case of Minneapolis-St. Paul taxi drivers who refuse to drive passengers carrying liquor. These cabbies are Sons of Allah, naturally, who believe that their job is to spread sharia law and other totalitarian aspects of Islam to every corner of the world. For the same reason, Mooslim taxi drivers are a picky lot and are known to refuse service to blind people who have guide dogs, because Mohammed didn’t like our canine friends.
Incidentally, when I pack a bottle of vodka around, it is inconspicuously tucked away in my suitcase, and I’m not sharing with any Allah-loving cabbie. Are passengers chugging martinis en route?
As it happens, the jihadist Muslim Brotherhood is behind the taxi problem. Rather than its usual pro-diversity slop, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune should be commended for an honest article about the serious culture clash in this controversy [Airport taxi flap about alcohol has deeper significance, 10/25/06].
Mohamud says the society has three goals: to present the "real image" of Islam in American society, to preserve the identity of Muslims here and to "make that identity fit without having clashes between cultures and laws."He emphasizes, however, that Muslims must follow shari'a, or Islamic law, in every aspect of their lives. "There are two conflicting systems here — two ways of life — that want to live in the same place and respect each other," he says. The society aims to facilitate conciliation between the two.
Mohamud adds that Americans need to learn about Islamic law because the Muslim population here is growing. That’s why the proposed two-tier system for airport cabdrivers is important, he says. It could become a national model for accommodating Islam in areas ranging from housing to contractual arrangements to the workplace.
"Two-tier system … for accommodating Islam" means that Islamist cab drivers get to reject infidels they don’t want to carry. It is also a way for misogynous, Stalinist sharia law to get its big camel nose under the American tent in Minnesota.
