From 4WWL-TV in New Orleans:
Shooting at 12-year-oldâs birthday party wounded 6, deputies say | âThey were all kidsâ
⌠A neighbor who saw paramedics take the victims to the hospital said all the victims were children, celebrating a birthday party in a garage nearby.
Rashad Bolden lives two doors down from where the shooting took place, and he told WWLTVâs Paul Dudley he was home when the shooting happened Saturday night. âŚ
âEverybody I saw taken to the ambulance â they were all kids,â Bolden said. âI looked out my window and saw a whole bunch of people scurrying, so I came outside.â
Bolden said he believes the shooter was also a child.
âFor someone to just shoot into the garage full of kids, thatâs kind of heartless,â Bolden said. âYou want to call it heartless, but you know they are not old enough to know what heartless is.â
Arriving at the scene around 8:30 p.m., sheriffâs deputies said they learned an argument led to gunfire that left several victims wounded, a statement from the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriffâs Office said.
Meanwhile, to the north in Shreveport, Louisiana:

And in Columbus, Ohio:
Woman killed in Columbus-area mass shooting struck by bullet as she passed shopping plaza
Eric Lagatta
The Columbus DispatchLaToya Renee Carpenter hadnât been gone from the apartment more than a few minutes when her fiance, Perez Williams, heard banging on their door.
Roused from a nap, Williams answered it to find his niece and some other friends and family, frantic as they told him what had just happened. Carpenter had been shot, they said, and she had not survived.
Williams was in disbelief.
âI said, âAinât no way,â because she just walked out the door,ââ Williams, 50, said.
Carpenter left her Truro Township apartment, just southeast of Columbus, just before 7:30 p.m. to pick up her 11-year-old daughter from her sisterâs home.
At the same time, a dark sports utility vehicle â possibly a Dodge Durango, according to the Franklin County Sheriffâs Office â was driving west on Chatterton Road by the Refugee Center shopping plaza. Someone in the SUV fired gunshots into a small group of people who had gathered outside of the Dollar General for a vigil commemorating the one-year anniversary of the death of a man who was killed at the location in what authorities said was a drug deal gone bad.
A stray bullet struck Carpenter, 39, in the head as she drove eastbound on Chatterton Road, causing her to crash into a car parked in the lot of Cross Key apartments. The mother of three died at the scene around 7:50 p.m., said Columbus police Lt. Dan Hargus
Five others were also hit by gunfire in the shooting and were taken to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
Austin:
The suspected shooter who killed three in a domestic situation in Texas was identified by police as 41-year-old Stephen Broderick. Cops said heâs a former sheriffâs deputy. https://t.co/yTWkvPyVxy

I donât know which of the seven shootings in Detroit this weekend the tweet refers to:
Kenosha I wrote about below as a test of Sailerâs Law of Mass Shootings.
Democrats are presently excited about this weekendâs carnage as proof that we need to do something about scary rifles and ghost guns. Very few, however, can even imagine that all the weekendâs mass shooters are very likely to be black. Thatâs not conceivable within their worldview of who are the good guys and who are the bad guys.
Pointing out that the inconceivable is actually obvious is what Iâve been doing over my 30 year writing career. As I may have mentioned, I run iSteve fundraisers in April, August, and December.
