Perhaps German Chancellor Angela Merkel and New York Mayor Bill de Blasio should get together to comfort each other. Both have been caught under exceptionally untimely instances of Narrative Collapse.Following the grand jury decisions in the Michael Brown and Eric Garner cases, de Blasio told New Yorkers that he had counseled his son to the effect that cops nurse homicidal malice towards young black men.
After two of his cops were beaten by demonstrators on Saturday December 13th, de Blasio called a meeting with the organizers of the demonstration on the following Friday, the 19th.
As reported on Radio Derb, de Blasio came out of that meeting to tell us that the demonstrators were “motivated from the heart,” and that the assaults on the two cops were merely “alleged.”
The day after that, on December 20th, two different New York City cops were murdered by a black psychopath fired up by the grand jury decisions and subsequent protests.
Narrative collapse! [Sound of collapsing masonry.]
Over to Germany, where much more orderly demonstrations (this is Germany) have been going on against the continuing Islamization of Europe under the leadership of PEGIDA, “Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamization of the West.”
Angela Merkel tried de Blasio’s shoes on for size, and they fit. In a speech on December 31st she took the side of the Muslims, accusing the Pegida demonstrators of nursing “prejudice, coldness, even hatred in their hearts.”
A week after that came the massacre in Paris, twelve murdered when Muslims assaulted staff at a satirical magazine.
Uh-oh. [More collapsing masonry.]
You have to feel a little bit sorry for the de Blasios and Merkels, whose chosen mission in life is the shoring-up of the multicultural edifice, but who keep getting hit by flying fragments of rubble. A little bit. Come on, a teeny bit.
