Back in the Nightcrawler days when Bob Tur wasn’t Zoey Tur yet, L.A. was the car chase capital of America. Are they back?
Woman newscaster watching fat lady run away from a crashed car: “She was running fast.”
Man newscaster: “Not very fast.”
One explanation given by car chase drivers is that they know they will be going where they won’t be doing any driving for a long time, so they might as well do as much fun driving as they can until they run out of gas. Another is that the other cons in the joint are big fans of car chases so it can help you get a popular reputation when you arrive.
