The Horror! Drudge Report Takes Haley Barbour Seriously

VDARE.com readers know I greatly respect the news sense of the Drudge Report. So I have been depressed to see the site has kept up all day the headline Haley Barbour Heads To Iowa, complete with picture. Drudge appears to intuit viability.

This is a disgusting thought. As I noted last night in Goodbye to Haley Barbour, Treason Lobbyist the Time revelation of his lobbying for amnesty on behalf of the Mexican Government should sink his candidacy without delay.

If it does not, even more of them will crawl out of the Inside-the-Beltway cesspool.

The former proprietor of the much-missed Nation of Cowards blog was particularly incensed by Barbour’s opening assertion in the video clip that “Spanish speakers” were essential for the post-Katrina reconstruction of Mississippi while Barbour was Governor.

He pointed out to me an excellent refutation from Diggers Realm 70 Legal Construction Workers Lose Jobs To Cheap Illegal Aliens In Alabama

An Alabama employment agency that sent 70 laborers and construction workers to job sites in that state in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina says the men were sent home after just two weeks on the job by employers who told them "the Mexicans had arrived" and were willing to work for less. Linda Swope, who operates Complete Employment Services Inc. in Mobile, Ala., told The Washington Times last week that the workers — whom she described as U.S. citizens, residents of Alabama and predominantly black — had been "urgently requested" by contractors hired to rebuild and clear devastated areas of the state, but were told to leave three job sites when the foreign workers showed up.

We noted this kind of thing ourselves.

The Barbour clip is worth viewing in full. Around 1:36 he proposes that all Indian PhDs graduating from “Stanford” (presumably a synonym for US Universities) be given immediate citizenship! Very encouraging for Americans going deeply into debt for education. Inventing a mythical prospective labor shortage, his enthusiasm for mass immigration is positively Canadian.

Ironically notwithstanding the outpouring of blatant ethnic hatred Barbour’s origins are provoking in the MSM, the fact is his attitude to immigration is pure Bush Neoconservatism.

Does America need more of this?
