Brenda Walker’s latest post on the robotics revolution includes a video clip of Amazon’s 2015 Picking Challenge, in which teams of technologists compete to develop robots that can identify objects, pick them up, and deposit them in bins. The video is fascinating.
It did, however, tempt me into the sin of noticing. Unless I missed something, the 2015 Picking Challenge was a total Ice People-fest: whites and Asians are designing the robots that will replace Non-Asian Minorities as unskilled laborers.
(They also seem to have hired in Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory as a judge: at 00m59s and 01m11s in the video.)
