"The Times They Are A-changin" — But which way?

With Joe Guzzardi setting a musical tone this evening, I am reminded of the smug, complacent song which bedeviled my student years: Bob Dylan’s “The Times They Are A-changin”
And the present now Will later be past The order is Rapidly fadin’

And the first one now Will later be last For the times they are a-changin’

Easy enough to sing this when the social tide is flowing your way. But will it be so pleasant for Dylan and his friends when the ignorance and ethnocentricity of the Obama administration triggers the inevitable response? And reverses half a century of Public Policy pampering of Blacks?

Hat Tip, Mangan’s : Your Anti-Racist Seal of Approval:

I refer to the well-known but ill-defined phenomenon of the appearance of blacks and other minorities, out of all proportion to their actual numerical representation in the population, in advertisements. Is it just me or does it seem that now, with the election and all, that blacks have seen their appearances in ads surge to an all-time high? …

Since we are still celebrating the Obamagasm — although with each new pronouncement of his the Dow loses a couple hundred points — we know that the most important fact about white Americans and their history is that they, and it, are racist.

Minorities in ads are the anti-racist seal of approval. And I must say, I’m getting very tired of having it thrown in my face every day.

Also Hat Tip Tomorrow In Vinland:

A joke via Iron Ink: In a press conference Thursday, Obama administration spokesman Robert Gibbs responded to an inquiry seeking to clear up the reasoning behind a 40% tax increase on Aspirin. Gibbs’ response was

”We believe that as Aspirin is White and it works it should be taxed accordingly.”
