When I started writing regularly for National Review ten years ago, Peter Brimelow told me he had opened a book on how long it would take before they fired me. I hope someone had the long numbers.
Time to open a book on Kevin Williamson. His piece on Mitt Romney in the current issue gets down'n'dirty with some HBD topics. The key word there is "some"; but once you open the HBD box, who knows what may fly out?
Have a gander at that Romney family picture: five sons, zero daughters. Romney has 18 grandchildren, and they exceed a 2:1 ratio of grandsons to granddaughters (13:5). When they go to church at their summer-vacation home, the Romney clan makes up a third of the congregation. He is basically a tribal chieftain.
Professor Obama? Two daughters. May as well give the guy a cardigan. And fallopian tubes.
Speaking as a guy who actually owns a cardigan (I plead filial piety: it was my Dad’s … wait a minute … ), I have some minor issues here with Kevin’s science … but I'll let them go. I think the world of Kevin (and said so here) and look forward with interest to his future development.
Now, Peter, who’s got the book?
