The Denver Post reports that former Congressman Tom Tancredo is considering (mainstream GOP types might say "threatening") to run for Governor of Colorado:Tom Tancredo, upset about canceled white nationalist event, weighs another run for Colorado governorThere are several things wrong with this story, the main point being that in both Charlotte and Colorado Springs, the authorities decided they would not protect "white nationalists" from attackers. As Tom Tancredo wrote on Breitbart:A conservative activist is trying to draft Tancredo into the 2018 GOP contest

Former U.S. Rep. Tom Tancredo is considering a run for Colorado governor in 2018 in a move that he hopes is a shot across the bow at the Republican Party.
The conservative firebrand told The Denver Post on Wednesday that he is thinking about another run after two losing bids in 2010 and 2014. “I certainly have concerns about the party and the people running,” he said in an interview.
Tancredo, a hard-line anti-immigration advocate and an ally of President Donald Trump, is “infuriated” at the party’s silence after a Colorado Springs resort canceled a conference reservation for the white nationalist organization VDARE Foundation, where he was scheduled to speak.
A writer for VDARE.com helped organize the demonstration in Charlottesville, Va., that turned violent and led to the death of a counterprotester. But Tancredo considered the Cheyenne Mountain Resort’s move to cancel the April 2018 event an affront to free speech.
“Not one Republican in this state, no one elected or running for office, has the guts to say, ‘What the hell is going on?’” he said. “What ever happened with the First Amendment? Have we totally annihilated it in our rush to appease the left?
“Honestly,” he added, “if you are going to run for public office I think it’s incumbent … to speak up.” [More]
Of course, we're not involved in his potential run for Governor, but he seems to be the only Republican willing to stand up for the First Amendment, as Peter Brimelow tweets here:The VDARE Foundation conference planned for the Cheyenne Mountain Resort had been announced months ago, but on Monday, August 14, two days after the Charlottesville riot, a local Colorado Springs television news story cited the left-wing Southern Poverty Law Center’s (SPLC) attack on the VDARE Foundation and quoted the SPLC’s slander against VDARE as a proponent of alleged “hate speech.”
The very next day, on August 15, the city’s Republican mayor publicly asked the resort owners to reconsider the hosting of the VDARE conference. But the mayor did not stop there; he issued this official warning: “The City of Colorado Springs will not provide any support or resources to this event…”
The message was there will be no police protection if violent protests occur…
Tancredo didn’t tell us he might run for CO gov on the issue but imagine ANY other GOPer (except Trump) being this heroic https://t.co/1MtJgqR4J4
