Traitorous Senate Republicans (Including John Cornyn!) Entertain Amnesty Talks

At least five Republican senators are open to a modified version of Joe Biden’s Amnesty. Axios reported Wednesday that a “bipartisan” group met to discuss “comprehensive immigration reform.” The four Republicans who attended the meeting were: John Cornyn of Texas, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Susan Collins of Maine, and Lindsey Graham of South Carolina. Mike Rounds of South Dakota called in [Bipartisan Senate group seeks immigration deals, by Alayna Treene, Axios, April 21, 2021].

Murkowski, Collins, and Graham are no surprise; they all voted for Amnesty in 2013. What is notable is Cornyn’s attendance. He is one of the most powerful Republicans in the Senate and he previously opposed Amnesty. But, as VDARE.com has previously reported, he has recently flipped and now wants to work with the Democrats to reward illegal aliens.

According to Axios, the “biggest areas of consensus were protections for so-called Dreamers and preserving the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals.” John Cornyn told the outlet that there isn’t a lot of trust and Republicans don’t want to do a “comprehensive immigration reform.” They prefer an incremental approach.

Cornyn:

“I think if we did something that is pretty much consensus, like DACA, then that would be confidence-building, and then we'd kind of move on to the next."

Democratic Illinois Sen. Dick Durbin said both sides agree that “we’ve got to reform the system.”

The only positives are that none of the Republicans appear in favor of Biden’s bill and there is no support for the amnesties the House passed last month. They include a massive farm worker Amnesty and an expansive legalization of illegal aliens who came to the U.S. as minors. But the obvious major downside is that some Republicans are willing to entertain a national sellout.
