Trump Cites Operation Wetback: MSM Freakout. Trump Cites Israel’s Fence Success: Dead Silence

After Donald Trump spectacularly trumped his competitors on immigration in last night’s GOP debate, the MSM is having a full scale freak out about his citing the success of President Eisenhower’s Operation Wetback.

The Donald has used this weapon before, of course, as Peter Brimelow noted in September in Trump Stumps CBS’ Pelley With Operation Wetback; WaPo Does Damage Control. And the story does serve to demonstrate that a determined government can indeed protect its citizens as I reported in Eisenhower’s “Operation Wetback” Worked Beautifully — But Ike Had ‘Political Will’.

But slightly earlier in the exchange Trump cited an even more decisive and much more recent example of a government doing its job

We need borders. We will have a wall. The wall will be built. The wall will be successful. And if you think walls don’t work, all you have to do is ask Israel. The wall works, believe me. Properly done. Believe me. (VDARE.com emphasis.)

Trump is absolutely right about this too, of course as I discussed in Antidote To Jeb Bush’s Lying Refusal To Build Fence: Ask Israel. Or Read Daniel Horowitz. Israel’s leaders completely blocked the influx of African across their Sinai border after the 2010 fall of Egypt’s cooperative Mubarak regime by building a fence — in painful contrast to the American failure. See Israel Fence News Highlights Obama’s US Fence Malfeasance.

Funnily enough, it is extremely hard to find any report at all of this in the accounts of the debate, let alone any discussion. The policy is equally controversial but Israel must not be embarrassed.

Four years ago I posted Saturday’s GOP Debate: MSM Mask Slips — Foreign Policy, Immigration Dissenters To Be Silenced.

The mask has slipped again, and not just in the coddling of Rubio.
