This is delicious, and explains much about Donald Trump’s popularity.
ABC reporter and CultMarx enforcer Tom Llamas tries to rectify Trump’s vocabulary.
Llamas: "Are you aware that the term "anchor baby," that’s an offensive term. People find that hurtful … "
What people? Freshmen residency assistants at liberal-arts colleges? Luis Gutiérrez?
Trump: "You mean it’s not politically correct and yet everybody uses it? Say, y'know what … "Llamas: "Look it up in the dictionary. It’s offensive."
I actually did look it up at Dictionary.com. It’s not there. I went to my trusty Webster’s Third, 1993 edition: nope, nothing between "anchor ax" and "anchor ball". The OED? Strike three.
