Uh, the question of who gets killed by the police has been studied intensively. Perhaps the best evidence is that blacks make up 32 percent of deaths at the hands of the police, and nonblacks make up 68 percent.

In contrast, according to a 2011 Obama Administration report, blacks made up 52.5 percent of all homicide offenders between 1980-2008, with nonblacks as only 47.5 percent.

It seems reasonable that police killings would be proportional to homicidality, since the best justification for a police killing is a reasonable fear of being murdered.

But instead, nonblacks are being killed by police in disproportionate numbers to their minority share of being homicide offenders.

Why?

And why has virtually nobody discussed this question?
