Unarmed White Teachers Are At Risk Of Rape And Murder By Their Black And Latino Students

Stacey Patton (left) is an "assistant professor of multimedia journalism" at Morgan State University, an "urban" black college in Maryland.

Patton has a Ph.D. in African-American History, and I don’t even know where to put the scare quotes there. She’s the author of Spare The Kids: Why Whupping Children Won’t Save Black America, which deals with "black America’s relationship with corporal punishment", I. E. horrific rates of child beating, which is apparently the fault of white people and nothing to do with a low-IQ, high crime rate population having to deal with low IQ, high crime rate children.

As Steve Sailer notes below, she’s been given op-ed space in the Washington Post to say that teachers should be unarmed, because armed teachers may kill black and Latino students.

Arming teachers would put black and Latino kids in danger | For students of color, guns in classrooms could be deadly, By Stacey Patton February 27, 2018

President Trump wants to arm teachers to prevent, or reduce the carnage from, future school shootings like the one at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., this month. “A teacher would have shot the hell out of him before he knew what had happened,” Trump said last week about the attacker in Florida. He’s not the only one who thinks this is a good idea: Several states are already considering legislation to allow guns to be carried into schools, ostensibly to protect kids.

But putting guns into the hands of schoolteachers would be extraordinarily dangerous for black and Latino students, who are already often forced to try to learn in hostile environments where they’re treated as threats.

How long would it be, if Trump’s plan became reality, before a teacher shoots a black student and then invokes the “I feared for my life” defense we continually hear from police officers who misinterpret young black people’s behavior with deadly consequences?

A mountain of data on persistent racial biases and disparities in education and on police presence in schools — as well as a recent increase in racial harassment in schools — makes it clear that kids of color won’t be safe if their teachers are carrying weapons.

But teachers aren’t safe from kids of color.Take the late Colleen Ritzer, for example. She met with 14-year old black student Philip Chism (pictured right in security footage) then this happened:

SALEM — Colleen Ritzer was likely alive when Philip Chism dragged her body into the woods behind Danvers High School and raped her with a branch, an assistant district attorney said in Essex Superior Court Monday after the prosecution rested its case.

Essex Assistant District Attorney Kate MacDougall argued that Chism, then 14, began his crime in the bathroom — strangling, raping, and stabbing his 24-year-old math teacher — but was interrupted when a student came into the bathroom.

“He didn’t get a chance to finish what he started in the bathroom,” MacDougall said, rebutting the defense’s motion to dismiss certain charges against Chism. “He finished it in the woods.”

Chism’s lawyers, who have told the jury their client killed Ritzer during a psychotic break, have tried to show Ritzer died quickly in the girls bathroom, and before the assault in the woods.

They used that argument Monday afternoon as the basis for their request for Judge David Lowy to throw out the charge of unnatural rape against Chism. The charge was borne of the allegation that Chism used a stick to violate Ritzer in the woods. But if she were dead at the time, the unnatural rape charge should be dismissed, the defense argued.[Official describes brutal injuries to Colleen Ritzer, By Maria Cramer, Boston Globe, November 30, 2015, emphases added. ]

The "kids of color" who assault, rape, and sometimes murder schoolteachers are not only dangerous, and indoctrinated (by their own schools!) in hatred of whites, they're immune to the death penalty as minors. (Supreme Court, 2005) Dr. Patton, of course, is one of the people who doesn’t even want the ones who commit simple assault on teachers to go to jail. This is called the "school to prison" pipeline, and measures taken to prevent are why Trayvon Martin was on the street to attack George Zimmerman, and why Nikolas Cruz was never arrested.

Like the black Philadelphia councilwoman who didn’t want storekeepers to protect themselves with bullet-proof glass, Dr. Patton is speaking up for criminals because she’s black and they're black. What’s the Washington Post’s excuse?
