H/T One Old Vet for supplying us with efficient, definitive proof that 2013 saw a War on Christmas: Lawmakers accuse VA of disrespecting Christians By Todd Starnes Foxnews.com January 06, 2014
Why did VA hospitals restrict and in some cases ban volunteers from bringing holiday cheer to patients?
That’s the question Rep. Jeff Miller (R-Fla.) wants answered
* The VA medical center in Augusta, Ga. Banned high school carolers from singing Christmas songs containing religious references in public areas of the hospital… The students declined to perform from a government-approved list of secular songs.
* VA officials in Iowa City, Iowa, told American Legion volunteers they could not hand out gifts to veterans if the wrapping paper included the words “Merry Christmas.”
* VA personnel in Montgomery, Ala., prevented a young woman from delivering gift bags to veterans because they included the words “Merry Christmas.”
* The Dallas VA medical center refused to accept the delivery of handwritten Christmas cards from local school children because the cards contained phrases like “Merry Christmas” and “God Bless You.”
News of this appeared earlier in the Army Times with a much more meaningful headline Christmas controversy at VA hospitals By Patricia Kime Jan 3 2014 and the useful information
The House Veterans’ Affairs Committee is asking VA patients, employees or volunteers to report any perceived instances in which VA attempted to curtail the celebration of Christmas or other federal holidays to its tip line, .
Widespread sprouting of incidents like these suggests motivation from above. In this case “above” is Japanese-American Veteran Affairs Secretary ex- General Eric Shinseki, yet another example of the Obama Administration’s anti-white hiring policies benefiting Asians.
Google News Alerts on the War Against (or on) Christmas this year overwhelmingly produced highly emotional and bad-tempered MSM denials that such an event exists — as James Fulford discussed last month in War On Christmas Denial: Daily Show, Salon, Huffington Post All Piling It On and also here. I stand by my 2006 comment If there’s no War on Christmas, how come they deployed an Army?
But what (I suspect) Veteran Affairs Committee Chairman Miller’s staff have been able to prove here is that that the War is in full swing — even if they had to feed force-feed supposedly friendly MSM outlets to get the news to the public.
Congressman Jeff Miller has a Numbers USA Recent Report Card of A+.
