Is there any stronger cultural glue than music? If there is, I don’t know of it. Not to mention music is a deep source of joy and community. Furthermore, Christian music is a musical treasure chest, encompassing traditional hymns, the classical tradition and an array of modern styles like gospel and country.(The fact that Islam hates and forbids music tells all you need to know about the so-called religion of peace.)
In Philadelphia recently, the city opera company’s singers plus hundreds of local church choristers performed the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel’s Messiah in Macy’s in the midst of shoppers, for a musical “Merry Christmas” greeting as well as a “Random Act of Culture” as noted by a sign near the end.
