White Ethnomasochist Response To Steve King: Black Invention Myths

One of the idiots furious at Rep. Steve King for noting the obvious — that Europeans created just everything of cultural or technological value — can be found in a Tweet at the bottom of the piece in The New York Times about King’s comments. This moron thinks King should be forbidden from using technology that nonwhites created:

Rep. Steve King shouldn’t be allowed to use any inventions created by people who are not white. No elevators, no microphones, no pacemakers.

That might be a good idea, except that whites invented the elevator, the microphone and the pacemaker. These are "Black Invention Myths" that don’t survive ten seconds of Google. See Snopes on "Life Without Black People" and Thank a White Male, By Jeff Lipkes, American Thinker, November 27, 2014.

King didn’t focus solely on whites. The race hustlers at MSNBC did. Here is the exchange:

Mr. King said: “This whole ‘old white people’ business does get a little tired, Charlie. I’d ask you to go back through history and figure out where are these contributions that have been made by these other categories of people that you are talking about? Where did any other subgroup of people contribute more to civilization?”

“Than white people?” Mr. Hayes asked.

Mr. King responded: “Than Western civilization itself that’s rooted in Western Europe, Eastern Europe and the United States of America, and every place where the footprint of Christianity settled the world. That’s all of Western civilization.”

Mr. King clearly did not focus solely on race, but on Western civilization, and the culture and religion that created it. Much as the intelligentsia might hate to admit it, Western Civilization is the product of the Faith and the people who practice it. Those people were and are white.

All Chris Hayes and company could do to answer King was point and splutter. They didn’t pull out a list of the great achievements of Asia or Africa.

Why would that be?
