Rep Schweikert versus Rep Quayle: Sad — but a silver lining?
Sadly, it turns out that through the magic of redistricting Congressman David Schweikert (Numbers USA rating A) about whom I wrote in HR 5957 — Next Best Thing To Impeachment To Block Obama’s Administrative Amnesty? is having to fight for re nomination against Congressman Ben Quayle (Numbers USA rating A). America cannot afford to lose either man.
But there is a silver lining: Quayle has also introduced a bill to block the Obamacrat Youth Amnesty: the Prohibiting Back-door Amnesty Act of 2012 — HR 5953. See Ariz. Congressmen attempt to block Obama’s new immigration policy by Dennis Welch Azfamily.com June 19 2012.
The president made the announcement Friday. By Monday, Quayle unveiled his anti-Obama legislation. Schweikert followed Tuesday with a plan to take away money the U.S. Department of Homeland Security needs for the plan.
VDARE.com of course thinks the appropriate response to this massive Obamacrat usurpation of power is impeachment. And several of the news reports prattle on about the unlikelihood of either bill being voted on, much less being enacted.
But the point is to get Congressmen on the record. The Govtrack.us pages for both bills, HR5953 and HR5957 have pop-ups which record the cosponsors (scroll down). At present the score is

Meantime, what of the Senate? Poor Mark Krikorian (who no doubt has to be polite) is reduced to proclaiming on the Center for Immigration Studies website Some Senators Grow a Spine on DREAM DecreeJune 20, 2012
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s Tuesday comment to reporters that the Senate GOP would wait to see what Gov. Romney had to say about Obama’s unconstitutional DREAM decree was apparently superseded yesterday. Sen. Chuck Grassley and 19 other Republican senators, including McConnell, sent a strongly worded letter to the president Wednesday belatedly making the points that need to be made.
A strongly worded letter!! Wow!!!
All the GOP Congressional Leadership needs to be fired. (H/T One Old Vet)
