His name is Gary Rasor, an 83-year-old army veteran and employee at a North Carolina Home Depot who was murdered by a black shoplifter who was attempting to steal power washers.
On October 18th, Rasor was working at the Home Depot garden center when he stepped in to confront a shoplifter as he walked out of the store with three Ryobi power washers. The suspect pushed Rasor out of the way, knocking him to the ground. Rasor later passed away from his injuries.
On January 23rd, months after Rasor’s death, Terry McAnthony McMillian Jr. was finally arrested as a suspect in the murder and is being held without bond. Authorities have charged the suspect with first-degree murder and robbery.
McMillian faces up to life in prison without parole.
