The Ford Foundation, which has historically favored the endless import of immigrants regardless of need or reason, has given a $500,000 grant to the Anti-Defamation League to
expand its research work on anti-immigrant groups, and to continue support for Making Diversity Count®, the League’s award-winning online anti-bias training program for educators.

Note the smear word “anti-immigrant” — immigration enthusiast code for anyone who, well, isn’t.
Americans must be concerned that the ADL is joining such discredited voices as the Southern Poverty Law Center ($PLC), which has branded as “hate groups” and “racists” all NGOs protesting the huge flood of immigrants.
It is to be hoped that the ADL, which has a legitimate record of concern about anti-Semitism, will not be drawn further into such evil company by Ford’s gift.
From the ADL’s website, we learn that
“The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) was founded in 1913 ‘to stop the defamation of the Jewish people and to secure justice and fair treatment to all.’ Now the nation’s premier civil rights/human relations agency fighting anti-Semitism and all forms of bigotry, ADL defends democratic ideals and protects civil rights for all. A leader in the development of materials, programs and services, ADL builds bridges of communication, understanding and respect among diverse groups, carrying out its mission through a network.”
Sounds fine to me. We are certainly anxious to see that all people are treated respectfully and without racial bias.
However, it is one thing to treat equally American citizens and immigrant who are here legally. But when 12-20 million are here illegally, we cannot just say “Hey, that’s ok, we just will turn away, our Rule of Law is no longer irrelevant.”
The ADL’s grant announcement raises grave concern that this is indeed its objective, along with attacks on any and all resistance:
‘We are gratified the Ford Foundation has reaffirmed the importance of our efforts to monitor and expose anti-immigrant groups, an area of our work that has become increasingly important as we continue to partner with prominent Latino civil rights organizations on this issue,’ said Abraham H. Foxman, ADL National Director. ‘We are so very proud to count the Ford Foundation among our closest partners in our vital work to seek justice and fair treatment for all and to further democratic values.’
The Ford Foundation grant will enable ADL’s Center on Extremism to expand its efforts to gather, analyze and circulate information related to local and national anti-immigrant groups and activists across the country. It will also allow ADL to expose the crossover between the mainstream and extremist elements of the anti-immigration movement in the United States.”
Just who decides what constitutes the “crossover between the mainstream and extremist elements of the anti-immigration movement in the United States”? This sounds like a far cry from a rational discussion of need, numbers, and sensible policy. It sounds, in fact, like an intention to smear and suppress all opposition.
This Ford/ADL relationship is apparently long and large. The ADL press release says,
“Through the same grant the Foundation also renewed its funding support of ADL’s Making Diversity Count® (MDC). MDC is an online anti-bias professional development program designed to give educators the tools they need to effectively promote diversity and respect for all students as well as to combat and confront bullying.
Following a successful pilot phase and initial launch of the program, in which participants expressed an overwhelmingly positive impact on their school climates, MDC will now expand in both scope and reach to provide teachers from across the country with the tools and skills they need to create 21st century classrooms of inclusion and respect.
With teacher in-service days disappearing, the growth of MDC will bring ADL’s anti-bias training to a wider audience in a format conducive to the demanding schedules of educators today and will allow ADL to reach remote geographic locations.”
Understand me clearly. I would never argue for mistreating anyone, especially school kids (although bullying and many other forms of misbehavior often surface in school systems regardless of ethnicity). In fact, the decades-long failure of our government, as pushed by these Open Borders advocates, has created a desperate situation that needs to be fixed. But name-calling of those with constructive solutions is not a solution.
That we need to fix our broken immigration system is agreed across the board, including by the Open Border crowd (i.e. the religious, ethnic and cheap-labor lobbies). But making sound, carefully researched arguments for immigration reduction, as has been done by such stalwart voices as the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) and VDARE.com, has already caused the SPLC to label both organizations “Hate Groups.”
Many carefully researched studies have that immigrants do displace Americans from jobs and depress wage levels.
Only 4 percent of the illegal population works in agriculture, but there is still tremendous pressure from powerful farm lobbyists to relax law enforcement to import agricultural workers. The Pew Hispanic Center says 7 million illegal aliens are in our workforce receiving regular paychecks from their jobs in the construction, manufacturing, transportation and service industries while 20 million Americans can’t find full-time work. The majority of these jobs that the Open Borders Lobby claims Americans "won’t do" are already being done by our fellow citizens, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
None of this counts to the $PLC — and now, apparently, to the Ford Foundation and the ADL.
Wouldn’t it be interesting to see what the ADL proposed and the grant letter or agreement from Ford?? And even more interesting would be the private conversations between these parties about what this grant is really intended to accomplish.
Who is an extremist? Who is making an argument that should be called “racist”?
There we go, right back to the favorite tactic of the $PLC.
And Americans, especially savvy minorities such as represented by the ADL, surely much be aware of such an obvious intellectual pothole.
There is an unimpeachably legitimate argument for much-needed immigration policy changes. It cannot be called “racism”.
But that is exactly what immigration enthusiasts have been doing for over 40 years. Is the ADL about to join them?
