However much publicity Texas Gov. Greg Abbott received for busing illegal aliens to Washington, D.C., caravans to the capital won’t likely change Biden Regime policy. But state action at the border might. Texas has already implemented tougher inspections on Mexican trucks that cross the southern border to scour them for illegals. That not only elicited howls of indignation from both sides of the border but apparently caused the Biden Regime to hesitate in its campaign to Elect A New Texas. Border state Republicans can and will do something about the illegal-alien invasion — border agents encountered more than 220,000 in March — because the federal government refuses to do its job. It requires creativity and courage, but the process seems finally to have begun.
Sending illegals to D.C. — or Biden’s home state, Delaware — is probably not the best idea, despite gratifying media fury. For one thing, D.C. didn’t mind the illegals. Authorities simply let them roam free. They told reporters that Catholic Charities offered their assistance to get them to where they want to go, free of charge [Texas Follows Through With Gross Stunt of Dumping Migrants in D.C., by Zachary Petrizzo and Rachel Olding, Daily Beast, April 13, 2022]. And anyway, it’s the Biden Regime’s policy to ship illegals into the interior on free flights. Abbott did the job for the feds with Texas’ money.
Indeed, the outgoing White House spokesman Jen Psaki mockingly thanked Texas for the help:
These are all migrants who have been processed by CBP and are free to travel. So it’s nice the state of Texas is helping them get to their final destination as they await their outcome of their immigration proceedings. And they’re all in immigration proceedings.

But Texas officials insist that the feds stopped dumping illegals in Texas communities after Abbott began shipping them to the doorstep of the U.S. Capitol. And state authorities plan to continue the busing in retaliation for Biden rescinding the implementation of Title 42 [Texas claims a win after Gov. Abbott pledged to bus illegals to Washington, by Bradford Betz, Fox News, April 11, 2022]. Title 42 is used to expedite deportations for health reasons, in this case, the Flu Manchu pandemic. Leftists demanded its end so more illegals would flood the country. The regime obliged, even though officials estimate the move will lead to as many as 18,000 encounters at the border per day.
Other Republicans might copy Abbott. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has threatened to send illegals to D.C., Martha’s Vineyard, and Biden’s Delaware [Florida Gov. DeSantis says funds are in place to bus illegal migrants out of his state, by Jon Brown, Fox News, April 12, 2022]. “Florida is not a sanctuary state, and our social programs are designed to serve the citizens of our state,” his office said last week [DeSantis warns migrants bused from Texas to DC, by Kelly Laco, Fox News, April 13, 2022].
And these aren’t the only ideas to fight the regime’s border treason. Abbott recently ordered that all trucks coming from Mexico go through “enhanced inspections” to check for drugs and illegals. The White House and business groups were none too happy about it. In contrast to her snarkiness about the illegals dropped near the U.S. Capitol, Psaki angrily condemned the inspections. She even blamed the inspections for America’s mounting economic woes. Business groups pleaded with Abbott to suspend the inspections because they delayed needed imports. On Friday, Abbott said that the inspections would be suspended…but only after he had received promises from Mexican authorities to beef up border security [Texas Gov. Abbott reverses course on truck inspections at Mexico border, by Laura Reiley, Washington Post, April 15, 2022].
And last year, Abbott sent state law enforcement and the National Guard to patrol the border, where the newly minted border guards arrested thousands of illegals. Because states are limited in enforcing federal law, Abbott ordered illegals detained on trespassing charges. The Treason Lobby fumed, even though the arrests do little to stop the flow of illegals, particularly when Biden is releasing them. The Texas Tribune estimates only a few thousand arrests [Texas’ border operation is meant to stop cartels and smugglers. More often, it arrests migrants for misdemeanor trespassing, by Jolie McCullough, Texas Tribune, April 4, 2022].
Other proposals are yet to be carried out. Last year, Florida’s DeSantis said the state would cut ties to contractors who help ship into the Sunshine State. In March, the state legislature passed just such a bill, which would also require local law enforcement agencies to cooperate with ICE and ban sanctuary cities in the state. It now awaits DeSantis’s signature [Florida OKs bill aimed at keeping immigrants out of state, by Brendan Farrington, Associated Press, March 9, 2022]. It’s unclear why he hasn’t yet signed it, as it is a policy the governor himself proposed. He restated his support for punishing these businesses earlier this month [DeSantis vows to send illegal immigrants 'dumped' in Florida to Biden’s home state of Delaware, by Kyle Morris, Fox News, April 6, 2022].
Arizona lawmakers are pushing an even more radical idea. Republicans in the state legislature want GOP Gov. Doug Ducey to use his war powers to deport illegals without waiting for federal authorities. Advocates say it would not violate federal immigration laws because the state would be repelling an invasion. Former Homeland Security official Ken Cuccinelli and others say the Constitution grants states the power to defend themselves against such an attack:
The way I would do it is I would thumbprint them, give them food and water and put them back across the border. … You’re not building facilities. You’re not holding for long periods of time.
[Arizona Lawmakers Urge Ducey to Use War Power at Border, by Jonathan Cooper, Associated Press, January 12, 2022].
Still, the move would require a state to usurp federal authority over immigration, which Abbott attempted in September when he said the state would close ports of entry on its southern border. Abbott eventually backed away because he feared overstepping the state’s jurisdiction. But it’s still a good idea — especially with the flood that’s expected to happen with Title 42’s end. What else are states supposed to do with tens of thousands of illegals pouring over the border every day? The state should close the ports of entry to invite a legal salvo from federal authorities. Let the feds explain to a federal court why they are not enforcing the law.
By forcing court battles, the states might persuade the Supreme Court to find that they are within their rights to enforce immigration laws because the Regime is refusing to do so. And it might order Biden do to faithfully execute the nation’s perfectly adequate laws governing illegal immigration. Texas v. Biden is already holding the regime’s feet to the fire by forcing monthly reports on the number of illegals it releases.
Stunts only go so far. Abbott might have made a telling point by sending illegals to D.C., but as VDARE observed, why not send them back to Mexico?
Again … why not just transport them back to Mexico? https://t.co/1zcmAABUDZ

Republicans must do more than complain about it. State leaders must use any means at their disposal to stop the invasion, and what everyone knows is a major push for The Great Replacement.
