Earlier by Nicholas Stix: Yes, Virginia (Dare), Black Supremacism Really Is A Thing
We live in a world of anti-white hatred for myriad reasons, including the now sacramentalized anti-white “Civil Rights Movement.” But yet another reason is the anti-white Mainstream Media and its black Leftist satellites, such as the viciously anti-white Official Black Voice, The Root. (Motto: “The blacker the content, the sweeter the truth.”) Increasingly, the MSM’s hostility toward whites is driven by angry, unqualified blacks being Affirmatively Acted into positions as editors, reporters, and columnists. It’s yet more proof that integration has failed.
We hear constantly about “racism” in stories about the “exonerated” Central Park Five attackers, or the “murders” of George Floyd and Trayvon Martin, or even in stories about white support for “Black Power.” The country’s most influential newspapers adorn their op-ed pages with ranting, crazy black women who absurdly claim that white strangers inappropriately ask to touch their hair — what VDARE’s Steve Sailer has wittily christened “World War Hair.”
But this is what we don’t hear: Thanks to “diversity” and integration supported by communist whites, the MSM has become a Black Supremacist Megaphone.
Let’s count the ways:
On March 4 at CNN, black African Moky Makura [Tweet her] complained that whites worry about white Ukrainians who are suffering under Russian attack, but ignore the travails of blacks in Africa [Media coverage of Ukraine shows it’s time to rethink what we know about Africa]. Makura averred that focusing on Ukraine is racist and demanded that whites ignore the war and the plight of fellow Europeans.
“As a Black, African woman without the benefit of blue eyes or blonde hair, it’s been equally emotional to see the number of racist and ignorant comments in the coverage on Ukraine that have passed unchallenged by the interviewers and media platforms that have aired them,” Makura wrote:
CBS, Aljazeera, France’s BFM TV and ITV have all reported the invasion in ways that illustrate deep bias, informed by a belief system that screams of an old-world, White-led, order.
ITV News correspondent Lucy Watson … summed up the collective hypocrisy and underlying narrative … when she said: “The unthinkable has happened … this is not a developing, third-world nation; this is Europe!”
According to the narrative she believes, “unthinkable things” happen only in “third world nations.”
VDARE.com readers are familiar with the Central Park Five, who nearly murdered Trisha Meili, an actual jogger, unlike criminal Ahmaud Aubery. But few are likely familiar with another largely unreported story, which Leonard Greene (right), an angry black columnist now writing for the New York Daily News, tried to spin.
On March 30, 2005, a mob of some 30 black teenagers attacked six white girls while screaming racial epithets (“black power!,” “honky b-----s!,” “white crackers!,” “Martin Luther King!”). The white girls’ offense: playing basketball in Brooklyn’s Marine Park.
New York’s MSM spiked the story. But a courageous young reporter, Marianna Hernandez at the plucky little weekly Brooklyn Skyline, reported on the hate crime [Non-Bias Attack, April 11, 2005].
Greene, right, then a columnist for Rupert Murdoch’s “conservative” New York Post, averred that Hernandez’s “one-sided” story “resorted to hate speech and race-baiting” [Vile Outbursts Are Fanning Flames Of Hatred, April 25, 2005]. Greene also fumed about letters to the Skyline that used pejoratives to describe the attackers. Meanwhile, three of Greene’s New York Post colleagues explained that the attack “became a rallying point on [unnamed] white-supremacy Web sites,” and that “locals are now second-guessing law enforcement” [Racial Wrangle, by Angelina Cappiello, Patrick Gallahue and Erika Martinez, April 25, 2005].
As well “the locals” should have. At first, the city did not call the attack a Hate Crime. A victim’s mother told the newspaper that the victims’ parents felt compelled to hire an attorney. Having put the woman on the spot, the Posties hastened to add that she “couldn’t specify exactly what action would be taken.”
The action was this: The pugnacious attorney, Stephen Murphy, forced the city to treat the atrocity as a felony Hate Crime.
That was always clear. Yet Aina Hunter [Tweet her] (right), a Black Supremacist writer for the Leftist Village Voice, misrepresented the crime as a run-of-the-mill physical dispute [Girl Fight, June 21, 2005].
During the late 1990s and early 2000s, black Affirmative Action baby Jayson Blair failed upward in his career — which included a disastrous internship at the Boston Globe — until he landed at The New York Times. As he had in the past, he fabricated yarns and plagiarized other writers. Exposure forced him to resign. In 2003, the Times’s Leftist white executive editor, Howell Raines, confessed that Affirmative Action explained the sordid saga.
But columnist Bob Herbert was having none of that. He was more concerned about nonexistent “discrimination” at the newspaper than he was about the unmitigated disaster that Affirmative Action had wrought:
[L]et’s be real. Discrimination in the newsroom — in hiring, in the quality of assignments and in promotion — is a much more pervasive problem than Jayson Blair’s aberrant behavior.
[Truth, Lies and Subtext, May 19, 2003]
Raines and black managing editor Gerald Boyd were fired. Herbert (right), who retired in 2011, stayed right where he was.
As I have written before, the nasty subtext to Affirmative Action is that something is inherently wrong with blacks. Or as Michael Gerson put it in a speech he wrote for George W. Bush, Affirmative Action is rooted in “the soft bigotry of low expectations.”
Yet Affirmative Action goes way beyond that relatively benign implication. It’s possibly deadly. In 2015, an incompetent, frustrated black reporter, Vester Flanagan — repeatedly promoted by timid whites afraid to fire or not hire him, and clearly floundering in a serious newsroom — murdered two white former colleagues, and wounded a third woman, before committing suicide. He sent a racist manifesto to ABC News, which published some teasers, but suppressed most of it. (Such murders occur frequently — VDARE.com classifies them as Disgruntled Minority Massacres.)
In 1994, New York Daily News columnist Earl Caldwell, right, promoted an obvious hoax and criminal conspiracy to destroy the life of a city policeman and shake down the city with a $20 million federal lawsuit. Two attorneys and seven alien black clients (West Indian immigrants, some illegal), who drove illegal “dollar vans,” alleged that a “white cop” had anally raped all of them, and “over 100” other men, to boot. There was no “white cop” — there was a Hispanic officer whose job included issuing traffic tickets to dollar van drivers. Queens District Attorney Richard Brown exposed the hoax, and the officer sued the lawyers for defamation and won [Reggie’s Revenge, by Leonard Levitt, NYPD Confidential, March 13, 1995].
Caldwell’s column about the allegations led either to his dismissal or resignation:
The editor of The News’s editorial page, Arthur Browne, thought the column violated fundamental journalism rules. “The column in effect convicted the officer of the alleged rapes and in that sense was unfair,” Mr. Browne said in an interview.
[THE MEDIA BUSINESS: Press; His Daily News career cut short, Earl Caldwell sees a disturbing racial divide in journalism, by William Glaberson, New York Times, July 18, 1994]
Caldwell’s defense: the black press had promoted the story; the white press had ignored it. It was, as with so many similar stories, an obvious Hate Hoax.
Caldwell later explained at length how black leaders at community meetings in Harlem treated white reporters: the whites were ejected, sometimes forcefully [White Reporters Out!, by Earl Caldwell, The Caldwell Journals, The Robert C. Maynard Institute for Journalism Education, 1999]. Black reporters watched in silence.
Virginia-born Junius Griffin, a rare black newshound at The New York Times in 1964, exposed a racially motivated, serial murder campaign against whites in Harlem. Culprits: the Blood Brothers, supposedly former members of the Nation of Islam. Between October 1963 and April 1964, the gang butchered four whites with knives: Julius Bulgach, 71; David L. Watts, 29; Eileen Johnson, 28; and Mrs. Magit Sugar, 50. They also grievously wounded Mrs. Sugar’s 47-year-old husband, Frank. The Sugars were Hungarian refugees who had fled Communism.
Black Supremacists wanted the MSM to suppress the truth; such was the pressure campaign that Griffin quit the newspaper. Yet the victims still received justice. Six black teenagers and young men were tried and convicted.
“Anti-racist” white writer Truman Nelson (1911-1987) wrote the self-published The Torture of Mothers (1965) to support the murderers. He condemned Griffin for honestly quoting a young black gang member who spoke of his hatred of whites and desire to kill them. But mostly Nelson asserted that Griffin was dishonest, and had created the Blood Brothers out of whole cloth.
Had Griffin also invented the murders? And was it “racist paranoia” that chased most whites out of the area during the ensuing 30 years?
Black supremacist media activists and their white allies branded Griffin’s reports a “hoax” [Reporter’s Tarnished Legacy, by Richard Prince, Prince-isms, Aug. 26, 2011].
Following Nelson’s book, black author James Baldwin (1924-1987), an Op-Ed page fixture back then, led a movement to free the convicted killers dubbed “The Harlem Six.”
Baldwin wrote a bizarre, virtually fact-free, 4,600-word screed for The Nation that depicted city police as brutal, thieving racists, and “the Harlem Six” as the true victims. Police, he alleged, beat the confessions out of the murderers, whom he dishonestly called “boys” and “children,” just as Leftists more recently called Trayvon Martin a “child.” Baldwin airbrushed the Blood Brothers and the black Muslims out of the picture, along with all the true victims, save for Mrs. Sugar. He got the six a new trial, at which they were acquitted. The white victims were swept under the rug [A Report from Occupied Territory, July 11, 1966]. Baldwin’s claims are now standard Leftist talking points about cops.
Recall that Baldwin also wrote a piece for The New York Times under this headline: “Negroes Are Anti-Semitic Because They’re Anti-White” [April 9, 1967].
So much for the anti-white, pro-black MSM. Let’s turn now to black newspapers.
Consider these:
The most famous black journalist of the 19th century was Ida Wells-Barnett (1862-1931), who campaigned to make people disbelieve white women who accused black men of rape. Known as known as Ida B. Wells, she preposterously claimed that white women find black men irresistible, and only scream “rape!” because they’re caught in flagrante delicto with black lovers.
In 2020, Wells received a posthumous Pulitzer.
It will surprise no one to learn that Wells, a Black Supremacist propagandist, is the hero of Nikole Hannah-Jones, who received her own Pulitzer for concocting The New York Times’s 1619 hoax.
D
uring the Tawana Brawley Hoax of 1987-88, Andrew Cooper’s (1928-2002) Black Supremacist Brooklyn weekly, the City Sun (1984-1996), rabidly and dishonestly supported Brawley and her conspirators, Al Sharpton, C. Vernon Mason, and Alton Maddox. Meanwhile, black New York Times staffers were outraged at the Gray Lady’s muted coverage of the hoax, and found the Sun’s lie-filled coverage, by black supremacist Managing Editor Utrice Leid, vastly superior [Outrage: The Story Behind the Tawana Brawley Hoax, by Robert D. McFadden, Ralph Blumenthal, M.A. Farber, E.R. Shipp, Charles Strum and Craig Wolff, 1990].
From April 1989 onward, the Sun and its older, Manhattan-based Black Supremacist rival, Wilbert Tatum’s (1933-2009) Amsterdam News, fervidly supported the Central Park Five Hoax. They repeatedly named the white victim, a no-no in real newspapers, to incite racist hatred against her.
Another brave black journalist was conservative George S. Schuyler (1895-1977). Also a brilliant novelist, Schuyler was a Renaissance man in the Negro press and wrote for the Pittsburgh Courier (1907-1966) for 40 years until he got the heave-ho in 1964.
Schuyler’s crime: The “Negro Mencken” mocked Martin Luther King Jr.’s Nobel Peace Prize [King: No Help To Peace, Manchester Union-Leader, November 10, 1964]. In a bit of poetic justice, the paper died after Schuyler departed. The New Pittsburgh Courier launched in 1967, but the reincarnation was a shadow of its former self.
In 1997, when Long Island University’s Polk Award Committee honored the old Courier staff with its career award, The New York Times and the New York Daily News refused to publish my letters to the editor about him. Yet writing under his own name and multiple pseudonyms, he was the only reason to read the paper, as its swift decline after his departure suggests [The Story of George S. Schuyler, schuyleriana.blogspot.com, January 19, 2019].
This background sheds light on why Americans are subjected to openly anti-white publications such as The Root, and television personalities such CNN’s Don Lemon and MSNBC’s Joy Reid.
It also explains why black politicians so brazenly ban white reporters from covering them or from asking questions at news conferences.
New York City’s new mayor, Eric Adams, recently denounced white reporters for “unfair coverage” and demanded more black reporters at his news conferences. He also said he would not take questions from whites if the Leftist media did not comply.
Chicago’s ghoulish lesbian headmistress, Lori Lightfoot, said the same thing.

The Leftist MSM is unconcerned. Just as they are unconcerned about the damage black supremacist journalists and their white enablers have done to their profession.
Integration has failed. Now what?
