The problem with today’s immigration enforcement — what there is of it — is that it’s done with a view toward placating professional Mexicans, e.g. La Raza.
We need to return to the successful deportation program the Eisenhower administration implemented called Operation Wetback which required only a fraction of today’s border patrol staffing.
Eisenhower, according to the Christian Science Monitor, acted " quickly and decisively." To make it as hard as possible for them to return, Ike sent illegal aliens hundreds of miles into Mexico. Then Eisenhower went after ranchers including then-Senator Lyndon Johnson and his buddies before instituting a guest worker programs that, by the way, worked pretty well.
