California Tea Party:"The Immigration Issue Is A Big One For Us."

A significant quote from a Tea Partier in the San Francisco area [correction, in Shingle Springs]:
Doug Roscoe, a 72-year-old retiree, said during the rally that he was still undecided about which Republican to vote for in the governor’s race but said Poizner seemed like solid tea party material.

"I was impressed with the fact that Tom McClintock endorsed him," Roscoe said.

Roscoe defined the tea party credo as "strong on capitalism, smaller government, accountability to the people."

He added, "The immigration issue is a big one for us."

Poizner, by the way, is making enforcement noises — the SacBee’s blog describes the
"crowd whooping and clapping as he threatened, "If you hire people who are here illegally, when I’m governor, I’m going to revoke your business license."
"Threatened" is the SacBee’s word — in this comment, it means "promised."
