Husband: Dr. Prof. Ford Was Motivated in 2012 by Concern Over Kavanaugh Being Nominated for Supreme Court

A common talking point is the notion that it’s implausible that Dr. Prof. Ford would have been motivated in 2012, the first year that anyone claims that Prof. Dr. Ford ever mentioned Brett Kavanaugh’s name, to keep Kavanaugh off the Supreme Court in 2018.

But Kavanaugh’s name surfaced in the media on 11/8/2011 in the circuit court Obamacare decision, and by early 2012 he was being talked about as a potential Supreme Court nominee if a GOP candidate won in 2012.

In fact, Dr. Ford’s husband says she brought up Kavanaugh’s name specifically in regard to him being possibly nominated for the Supreme Court if a Republican won in 2012. From the Washington Post on September 17, 2018:

Ford said she told no one of the incident in any detail until 2012, when she was in couples therapy with her husband. The therapist’s notes, portions of which were provided by Ford and reviewed by The Washington Post, do not mention Kavanaugh’s name but say she reported that she was attacked by students “from an elitist boys’ school” who went on to become “highly respected and high-ranking members of society in Washington.” …

In an interview, her husband, Russell Ford, said that in the 2012 sessions, … he recalled that his wife used Kavanaugh’s last name and voiced concern that Kavanaugh — then a federal judge — might one day be nominated to the Supreme Court.

That doesn’t prove the overall question one way or another, but it does disprove the talking point that it is implausible for Ford to have been motivated in 2012 by a desire to keep Kavanaugh off the Supreme Court. According to her husband, she clearly was motivated to do so in 2012 by exactly that concern.

If you’ll recall, the Obama re-election campaign surfaced a lot of the current anti-male and anti-white emotions sweeping much of America in the early months of 2012.
