White Republicans Targeted in Jackson Water Crisis
Of course, in 84% black Jackson, the lack of ability to maintain the city’s infrastructure is the fault of the White man.
In the wake of the EPA’s investigation of the Mississippi water crisis, NAACP President Derrick Johnson, who lives in Jackson, is spearheading a civil rights complaint against the state of Mississippi.
Johnson alleges that the Republican state’s “inaction” and Governor Tate Reeves’ vocal fiscal conservatism amounted to “systemic neglect”.
Johnson told the AP:
“Unfortunately, we live in a state that is still dealing in racial politics. And as a result of that, you have state leaders who seek to penalize African American residents of the city of Jackson in a very discriminatory way.”
Governor Reever says the state took control of the city’s water infrastructure because of the “absolute and total incompetence” of the Democratic city administration.
Paul Kersey writes:
“All of America’s racial history is alive in 2022 Jackson, Mississippi. White people built the city long ago, and abandoned it upon the creation of the Civil Rights Act of 1964… However, in the absence of whites, shouldn’t the water of civilization be flowing with blacks in charge?”
