Re: Peter Brimelow’s Blog: Happy Theodore of Tarsus/St. Januarius Day! (Also Rosh Hashanah)
Peter Brimelow is thoughtful in also mentioning his spouse’s Roman Catholic saint’s day. But in his special Rosh Hashanah wish to not only Jews, but also to Anglicans and Catholics, Brimelow was in his multi-cultural approach to the celebration woefully misguided.
Brimelow’s failure to mention Moslems, Hindus and Buddhists is a serious omission. He'll be taken to task for his failure; of that I am sure.
Please understand that America is now a diverse amalgam of many groups, ethnicities and religions. WASPs like Brimelow must learn to accept this.
So the next time Brimelow has an inspired moment to celebrate our cultural/religious diversity, he must include all of our current religious and ethnic brethren.
Remember: the thought police — and the SLPC in particular — are tracking Brimelow’s every word!
Still, as a traditional Catholic, my instinctive response to Brimelow’s words of good cheer is that God must be Jewish: in my more than eight decades of life, rarely, if ever, have I seen a less than splendid day on Rosh Hashanah.
